Medicine is considered the noblest of all professions because it is in this profession that human beings save the life of other human beings. Is this thought prejudicial? Do you agree with this opinion? Vikrant said, “Medicine is considered …………… gives prestige”. Tension grew between Vikrant and his parents over his identity with Anuj because they thought that it was Anuj’s bad influence that made Vikrant neglect his studies. When Vikrant’s class grades dropped and he began skipping group tuitions and even extra school classes designed for the weekends, naturally his parents were upset. Being doctors, they hoped that Vikrant too would become a doctor. How did it happen?Īs an only child, Vikrant was the apple of his parents’ eye and they had all their hopes pinned on him. ‘The identity ofVikrantzvithAmij created tension between Vikrant and his parents’. He gave new ideas to Vikrant for self-analysis – particularly the body language of the self and how to control expressions and feelings. Though much older, he could understand Vikrant’s problems and be of help, Anuj was not just a person with dynamic ideas on photography he could also throw light on the connectedness between human beings and all other living species. Why did Vikrant feel so? Who was Anuj?Īnuj was a newfound friend of Vikrant. She showed her concern to mould the career of her son.Īnuj had spun into Vikrant’s life like a ‘new universe’. Vikrant’s mother was anxious that Vikrant should ready himself to cope with the intensely competitive environment that had to be scaled for getting admission to a prestigious medical college. She knew that class XII would be a decisive year as it would show whether Vikrant had the scope to get admitted in a good institution for medical studies. Vikrant’s mother was talking about class XI as a good foundation for class XII. Vikrant’s mother was harping on the importance of the year. Answer the following questions in three or four sentences each: Anuj knows that Vikrant would have great selfcontrol if he studied his own feelings and his body’s response to the same.Ĭ3. That is why he wants Vikrant to keep his emotions under control. it is reconciliation that would be beneficial. Anuj knows that it is pointless to confront people and that confrontation only leads to unpleasantness. He knows that Vikrant is in a difficult situation as his and his parents’ interests are at loggerheads. Just because they are doctors, she wants their son also to become a doctor.Īnuj wants to help Vikrant. Instead of encouraging him in the area of his interest, she wants him to pursue what she and her husband are interested in. She does not understand the passion of her son for photography. The word ‘harping’ shows that the mother had the habit of nagging. Vikrant’s father feels that this is the outcome of Vikrant’s association with Anuj and he refers contemptuously to Anuj as a junkie who distracts Vikrant with irrelevant things. Vikrant’s father is annoyed with him because Vikrant is hanging around with Anuj and is showing more interest in photography. It would be better if you turned your attention to investigating a coaching center rather than spend time with junkies and irrelevant things. If you want to get control over a situation, you could start by observing your body’s reaction. Mother was harping on the importance of the year for getting a good grip on science and maths It would be better if you turned your attention to investigating a coaching center rather than spend time with junkies and irrelevant things. He is finding it difficult to cope with the pressure of his studies. The eyes had rolled back in the head, the lids open. Spikes jutted out from the lower jaw, coming to sharp points about two inches from the chin. The entire thing was covered everywhere with very short hair. More blood slicked down the stairs and pooled beneath the beast. It wasn’t wearing a shirt, and Jacob nearly wretched as he stepped up the stairs and saw a huge gaping hole in the thing’s chest. The wall all around it was splattered with blood and marred with spray from a shotgun. Humanoid, with stubby, muscular legs, massive arms, and four fingers on each hand. What the crap was it? The thing was huge. He clung to the railing, staring at the dead beast. Jacob gasped, stepping back involuntarily, and nearly fell down the stairs before catching himself. A huge body was sprawled across the top of the staircase. He didn’t get far before stumbling to a halt. In a rush, he searched the rest of the first floor, then bounded up the stairs. Jacob’s breath caught when he spotted blood all along the edge of the counter. Everything there was broken-not even the battery-operated clock on the wall was still ticking. His heart did a little flip, and foreboding settled over him. All the bulbs had been shattered-the lamp near the front door, the overhead light, and the lamps on the shelves by the piano. He stepped inside, and something crunched under foot. She would rather pay an elevated electric bill than live in a dark house. Holy moly! A gorgeous PRINCE for each book? YES, PLEASE! Just like every other bowl, their Sarawak Laksa includes thin rice vermicelli noodles, shredded omelette and shredded chicken breast. The main difference of our Sarawak Laksa to the regular Curry or Asam Laksa is that in our broth, we combine both the coconut milk and tamarind paste. Sarawak Laksa has a creamy and slightly tangy taste. It is always served together with a slice of lime and a spoonful of sambal on the side, which sometimes may not be ever enough. Using a ladle, pour the soup and a few pieces of tofu puffs on top of the noodles. Top the noodles with 2-3 shrimp, a few pieces of fish cake, and some eggs. Drain the noodles and bean sprouts and transfer to a serving bowl. So my findings is that LR can indeed handle and process pixelshifted files now, so long as motion correction is not needed. I use dcraw to create linear TIFFs.Thanks for doing this Steve. ** A linear TIFF is the result of RAW processing with no white balance, normalization curves, colorspace, or color profiles applied. * I will let the good folk at CIE explain what "scene-referred" means. Bottom line is that PixelShift2DNG, while not fully equivalent to a RAW capture has similar flexibility with compatible tools and equivalent to working from a linear TIFF.Sufficient Pentax-specific metadata is retained such that when opened in PDCU or imported into Lightroom, the files are treated similar to if they were a single image capture from a Pentax camera.Near as I can tell, the data are equivalent to a linear TIFF** and a good approximation of the original RAW data. The data are in the form of RGB pixels based on extracted values from the four pixel-shifted captures, but without application of white balance or color profile and are "scene referred"*.

This import link works in a very similar way to ours at Trevor.io. In a nutshell, you write SQL, and DataClips gives you links to share the results, including one to import them into Google Sheets. If you’re using Heroku, DataClips is a brilliant solution that paires nicely with your Heroku Postgres database. We are continually working to create a positive and supportive learning environment. We incorporate themes of positivity and kindness into many school-wide initiatives and programs that we run to encourage students to treat everyone in the school building with respect. The key focus of our school administration and counseling teams at Smart’s Mill is to provide a safe, positive, and welcoming environment for all students. After more than a year of distance learning, P2 is helping our students re-learn how to connect and collaborate with one another. We have also seen students socializing and working together more.” Having lessons that are relatable to students’ lives helps spark conversations between students and their peers. One of our 7th-grade history teachers highlighted that, “P2 has helped more students participate in discussions and activities because all students can connect and relate to the topic. Recently, we completed the Bravery word cloud and nearly every student submitted colorful pieces with the clear effort shown.” However, when it comes to P2, the content is engaging and written at their level to the point where they always take it seriously and give thoughtful responses. One English teacher shared, “my Advisory class loves to have fun and can be a little goofy at times. The P2 lessons are valuable because there are lessons specific to each grade level, so they are tailored to be developmentally appropriate. The best lessons are the ones that have a great video and discussion prompts that encourage students to relate their experiences – these get the greatest involvement.” This is probably one of the better programs I’ve ever been involved in implementing, and the productive discussions in class are wonderful to see. She stated, “I’m really impressed with the way this program focuses on positivity (I know it’s in the name!) and does not fall back on giving examples of poor attitudes and poor behaviors – students already see enough of those in real life, and don’t need them reinforced. One of our 6th-grade science teachers shared the impact of the P2 lessons on her Advisory class. Now that our students are back in the physical school building, our staff is seeing an even greater impact of P2 on our school community. This continuity allows students to feel more comfortable engaging in reflective conversations and activities provided by P2, because they are with the same group of peers and staff members each day. In each Advisory class, students and teachers are together every day throughout the school year. All of our students attend an Advisory class each morning where they engage in the daily P2 lesson. Our school opted to continue with P2 this school year, which was our first time implementing the lessons to students in person. After the first week of implementing P2 in the fall of 2020, one of our 8th grade English teachers shared, “I just wanted to let you know that so far, I find it extremely easy to use and my Advisory class had a great conversation yesterday about Curiosity! It has taken a big burden off of me during distance learning already, just knowing that things are ready for me to use and the kids will be engaged. Many of our teachers appreciated having the activities planned and ready to use because it was one less thing for them to prepare during a time when many challenges were put on teachers’ plates. The pre-packaged lessons were easily adaptable to the virtual learning environment, requiring very little preparation by our staff before delivering the lessons. Smart’s Mill Middle School implemented Positivity Project (P2) during the fall of 2020 when our students began the school year in distance learning. |
